In terms of physical and mechanical properties, polyethylene sheets are similar to polypropylene sheets because they belong to the same class of polyolefins. But there are still significant differences, for example, polyethylene sheets have a higher density of 0.96 g/cm3, they are stiffer, and they have improved chemical resistance to certain compounds that polypropylene is not resistant to. In addition, polyethylene sheets are more frost resistant, and thanks to the presence of UV stabilizers, they resist solar radiation, do not fade, and do not collapse. PE sheets are perfect for almost any process, they can be sawn, drilled, milled, bent, hand welded and butt welded, as well as shaped, cut and glued together.
